About ETH Lab
ETH Lab has been founded in year 2006 in order to provide the whole Eurotech Group of an independent innovation company. Entirely owned by Eurotech, ETH Lab implements the research vision of the Group about innovation. Purposely separated from the industrial branch in order to be immune from day-by-day market constraints, ETH Lab operates in a "techology push" modality, where new concepts and innovative technologies meet with advanced design methodologies to envision the future. Inside ETH Lab you are encouraged to experiment, create, innovate, think forward, imagine, forecast, try and maybe make mistakes. This doesn't mean that the industrial and product focus has to be denied. It just makes ETH Lab a place where creativity, imagination, talent and skills can be combined to foresee novel applications and concepts to inject into our tomorrow.
State-of-the art hardware components, innovative human-to-machine interfaces, cutting edge communication technologies, breakthrough application domains are the ingredients of the Lab action. Talent scouting and development, community-based design, dream realization are the ways that the Lab adopts to pave the way to the future.
What are the areas of interest? Many. All those one can imagine that could be related with present or future businesses of the Eurotech Group. From embedded systems to High-Performance Computing, from wearable appliances to ambient intelligence. This is the wide vision of the Eurotech Group, hence of ETH Lab.
Many are the concepts that have been conceived in ETH Lab. Some of them have become products, such as ZyPad, the wrist wearable computer, and Aurora, the green petascale high-performance computing architecture, that have significantly contributed to make Eurotech a innovation company known worldwide in its reference markets.
What will be next? In this view ETH Lab offers a stimulating environment where talented individuals with a solid technical background can direct their immagination and creativity towards the realization of new concepts and exploitation of novel market opportunities. Being a world-based company, Eurotech offers the World as the destination of this creativity, from USA to Europe to Japan. Eurotech asks to ETH Lab to pose questions and give answers about the future, and about the World of technology and users.
All this is ETH Lab.
